Our associate provides advice and practical tele-facilitation to help you apply for residency in Mexico using Family Unit rules.

Most foreigners seeking legal residency in Mexico must begin their application at a Mexican consulate abroad.  However, as we describe in our article about seeking residency in Mexico via Family Unit rules, the immigration law legislates for a small few exceptions whereby foreigners in specific circumstances may exchange a Visitor permit (FMM) for a residency permit from within Mexico without having to leave the country.

The most common Family Unit application is between couples, where one spouse or common-law partner is a Mexican national or existing foreign resident, but there are others. Learn more about Family Unit applications.
