The Salvation Army in Southern California is responding to the recent fires in SoCal with disaster food services for families in need and emergency responders.

Emergency shelters, where The Salvation Army has been serving food since September 8, will be closing today. The Salvation Army will shift their focus to serving at the Local Assistance Centers for those affected by the Southern California Fires, starting September 19th for the Airport Fire and September 20th for the Bridge and Line Fires.

Response:        The Southern California Emergency Disaster Services

  • As of September 18th, The Salvation Army has provided 4366 meals, over 3000 snacks, and 1900 drinks as well as infant supplies.

But we are not doing it alone!

  • The Salvation Army is grateful for local corporations who have stepped up to provide meals, such as Costco Wholesale in Victorville who donated meals and personnel for dinner at the San Bernardino Fairgrounds last Sunday. The Salvation Army will also be partnering with Baby2Baby to receive additional diapers, wipes, hygiene items, and more that can be distributed to those affected by the Southern California fires.

Need Assistance:

Local Assistance Centers (LAC) are facilities where individuals, families, and businesses can access available disaster assistance programs and services.

  • The Salvation Army Ontario Corps at the Pomona LAC for both LA County and San Bernardino County residents in response to the Bridge and Line Fires (September 20)
  • The Salvation Army San Bernardino Citadel at The Way World Church Hallmark Campus LAC in response to the Bridge and Line Fires (September 21, 23)
  • As always, The Salvation Army is prepared to offer both physical and spiritual assistance during this time of crisis within our community.
