Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for March 22nd, 2024. In today’s article, we finish out the week by taking a look at a rather bumper crop of Friday releases. Quite a few genuinely decent games in the line-up today, which is a welcome sight in recent times. We’ll go through all of them, summarizing the games worth taking a closer look at. After that, we’ve got some new sales to dig into, along with the usual list of expiring weekend discounts. Let’s head to the weekend!
New Releases
Princess Peach: Showtime! ($59.99)
It’s been a hot minute or three since Peach’s last starring role, so it’s nice to see her take the spotlight in a game again. Princess Peach: Showtime! comes to us by way of developer Good-Feel, who have made some cool games like Kirby’s Epic Yarn and Yoshi’s Woolly World. Peach has to save the Sparkle Theater from the evil Grape and the Sour Bunch, and to do it she’ll need to wear a lot of different hats. We’ll have a review of this one as soon as we can, but the consensus so far seems to be relatively positive.
The Legend of Legacy HD Remastered ($49.99)
I think every fan of Japanese RPGs remembers the first time they got FuRyu’d. You know how it goes. FuRyu announces some new game with a few creators from big-name games of the past, and you get all excited thinking it’s going to be just as good as those old games only to get something decidedly more… middle-of-the-road? Well, The Legend of Legacy on Nintendo 3DS was mine. At the time SaGa was pretty quiet, and the idea that some SaGa veterans were coming together again to make a SaGa-like game was exciting. The Legend of Legacy didn’t quite hit the mark, but that doesn’t mean it’s a poor game. I’ll be taking a look at this HD remaster of the game in a review early next week to let you know how I feel about it.
UNTURNED ($24.99)
Oh hey, Unturned. This game was all the rage ten years ago, and I imagine if I went and took a look I would find it’s still rather popular now. Well, here’s a Switch port of the game. Survive in a zombie-infested world alone or with friends, making use of whatever resources you can find on the nine maps to keep undeath at bay. Just about as “not my thing” as a game gets, but it didn’t become popular for nothing.
Laika: Aged Through Blood ($19.99)
This game describes itself as a Western-inspired motorvania, and that’s a pretty good napkin pitch for what it offers. You play as a motorbike-bound mother coyote warrior on a quest for vengeance against those who wronged her people. Folks have been enjoying this one over on PC for a while, and I imagine it won’t have any trouble finding an audience with the Metroidvania-loving Nintendo Switch audience.
Across the Obelisk ($24.99)
Are you ready for another deckbuilder turn-based roguelite game in the vein of things like Slay the Spire or Monster Train? If so, here is another one of those. It’s a pretty good one too, but be aware that there is also some DLC here that effectively doubles the price of the game. I suppose the most distinctive thing about this game is that you can play online co-op with up to four players. Anyway, I don’t have much more to say about this one, but I appreciate the priest pig a lot and I don’t want to step away without saying that.
Flower Shop: Winter in Fairbrook ($9.99)
A follow-up of sorts to Flower Shop: Summer in Fairbrook, this visual novel sees you guiding Natalie as she tries to survive her winter break working at a flower shop in Fairbrook. Yes, this all matches the title so far. Well done. This is a dating sim with some light farming sim elements woven in, and you’ll be able to reach one of nine different endings based on how you talk to other characters and your choices of how to spend your time each day. If you liked the first one, why not?
Redgar: The Space Viking ($14.99)
If you enjoyed Hotline Miami, you might want to look into this story-driven top-down shooter. It’s about a viking in space. He has various weapons. There are various enemies to use them on. It’s all very “point A to point B” in that sense. The soundtrack is really good, too. I don’t think it matches up to its source of inspiration in any respect, but it’s good enough that I think it’s worth trying out if you’re interested in this style of game.
Crypt Stalker ($6.99)
Here’s another homage to the 8-bit Castlevania games, and while it isn’t a patch on Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, it’s decent enough. Since it’s Red.Deer publishing, the price is higher than it normally is on other platforms. Wait for the soon-to-arrive deep discount if you want to pick it up, because you know it’s coming.
Finding America: The West Collector’s Edition ($9.99)
Search for the hidden objects… in the Western United States!
The Bin Bunch
Kingdom of Corrupts ($5.80)
To The Sky ($9.99)
Drift Legacy ($19.99)
Multi Maze 3D ($4.99)
Virtual Girlfriend Dating Simulator ($9.99)
Reaper Survivors ($4.99)
Sales
(North American eShop, US Prices)
Plenty of good stuff in the list today, with sales from NIS America, ININ Games, Bethesda, and more to consider. Stuck in between all of that, I want to call out Slime Rancher at its lowest price ever. There isn’t much in the outbox at all, so feel free to allocate your funds towards the new stuff. Check those lists!

That’s all for today and this week, friends. We’ll be back next week with more new games, more sales, some reviews, and some news. Right now my son is in the next room eating McDonalds. I won’t be eating dinner until I finish work today, but the smell of the French fries is making me very hungry. I’d better write faster. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and as always, thanks for reading!
