As a popular destination for all things beauty, Ulta loves rewarding loyalty through its rewards program. If you’re a member, which is 100% free to join, you’ll have access to freebies and other remarkably exclusive savings opportunities all year — but never more than during your special birthday month. Similar to how Sephora offers its birthday gifts, Ulta has historically laid out its birthday freebies for you ahead of time, which eliminates any element of surprise.
But in 2024, Ulta is officially shaking things up. First, its rewards program is changing names from Ultamate Rewards to Ulta Beauty Rewards. Second, members will now get to choose from six different products during their birthday month rather than just receiving a predetermined product. The six products are only available while quantities last, and since this is a new way of getting your gift, we’re only assuming the products will be swapped out once they sell out.
But some things are staying the same like earning two times the rewards all month long and Platinum and Diamond members, the most loyal Beauty Rewards tiers of them all, will receive a $10 off coupon as an extra gift to use in-store or online, in addition to the freebie product during their birthday month.

How To Get Your Free Ulta Rewards Birthday Gift
Getting your hands on your birthday gift is easy-breezy. Here’s what to do:
- Sign up for a free Ulta Beauty Rewards account with your email, including your mailing address.
- Provide your birth date so you can get your birthday gift during your birthday month. You must provide your birth date by the 8th of your birthday month to be eligible.
- You’ll receive an email at the beginning of your birthday month with the opportunity to earn double rewards points on all your purchases during the calendar month of your birthday. The points can really add up. For example, once you reach 750 reward points, you’ll get $30 off any purchase.
- You can either redeem your birthday gift online through your birthday email or search “birthday gift” at ulta.com.
A couple of things to know: Your free birthday gift is a travel- or deluxe-size product that ranges anywhere from $7 to $23. Also, you can’t redeem your birthday gift or the $10 birthday coupon at Ulta at Target stores.
